Our huts are historic dwellings, that have been lovingly restored into a cosy, relaxing accommodation space, while still retaining their rustic charm and rural atmosphere.
Simons Hill Station is a family-owned, working station. We farm fine-wool merino sheep and beef. And we can even show you around the farm with our bespoke farm tours click here for more infomation.
The accomodation are located near our homestead, providing you with private access to our farm for walking, hiking and exploring, surrounded by exceptional views of the Mackenzie Basin.
You'll have the privilege and opportunity to be immersed into the sounds and smells of nature as you experience high country station life.

New Zealands Dark Sky Reserve
Simons Hill offers a deeper darker night sky experience in the Mackenzie's famous Dark Sky Reserve.
Our location makes us the perfect space for stargazing while relaxing in comfort.
We are located half-way between Lake Tekapo and Twizel townships.
"One word: Spectacular. Our visit felt like something out of a fairy tale. The surrounding mountains, the walkable trails on the property- we cannot recommend this place enough. The bed was comfortable, hot tub was phenomenal for start gazing. We wish we could’ve stayed longer!"
